Frequently Asked Questions

General

RedM is a multiplayer modification framework for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. It allows players to join custom servers and experience a wide range of game modes, features, and content beyond what is available in the base game.

RedM is owned by CFX; which is owned by Rockstar. So you have a very little chance of getting banned being on a RedM server.

Players on The Tackroom can participate in horse-related activities like barrel racing, roping, and trail riding. There are also ranching jobs, cattle herding, horse training, and competitive events like rodeos and horse shows. The server offers roleplaying opportunities such as owning homes, ranching, farming, hunting, and much more to come!

To play RedM and join The Tackroom server, you need a PC with Red Dead Redemption 2 installed. RedM is not available on consoles, so a capable gaming PC with sufficient processing power, memory (at least 8 GB of RAM), and a decent graphics card is required to ensure smooth gameplay. Additionally, you’ll need a stable internet connection to connect to the server and enjoy multiplayer features.

The Tackroom is a RedM server focused on equestrian life and Western soft-roleplay. It’s an immersive experience where players can raise, train, and ride horses, participate in equestrian events, and live out their western dreams.

Have a look at our How to Join. Once you join The Tackroom server, you’ll create your character and choose your starting location. After that, you can explore the world, buy a horse, and begin your journey in the Western frontier.

Gameplay

Yes! Owning and training horses is one of the core experiences on The Tackroom. You can buy horses, train them to improve their stats, and even participate in horse shows and competitions.

We use SireVLC, and KD Stables script.

SireVLC Stables enable custom horses that are not seen in the normal Red Dead Redemption gameplay such as quarter horses, friesians etc.

KD Horses are more our custom horse script; with breeding, you can customize the coats on these horses.

The Tackroom offers a wide variety of horse breeds, including custom breeds like the American Quarter Horse, Tiger Horse, Shetland, Friesian, and more, thanks to the custom SireVLC horses mod.

Additionally we have a Custom Horse script that allows custom coat creation, and breeding of horses. There’s base game breeds, and coats but the variety of coat combinations is endless! Have a look at one of our founder’s tiktok that makes coats requested by followers.

The Tackroom hosts various events like rodeos, equestrian competitions, trail rides, and cattle drives. There are also community events, contests, and seasonal celebrations that help bring players together. Additionally, with our popup events players can host their own events!

Absolutely! Players can customize their character’s appearance, clothing, and accessories, and even visit in-game stores like Reboot Clinic (for character makeovers) to redo their character’s model if desired.

While there are no assigned jobs on The Tackroom, players can roleplay a range of professions like rancher, horse trainer, farrier, vet, or even an event coordinator. You can incorporate these roles into your gameplay by running your own business, becoming a landowner, or engaging in trades like leatherworking or blacksmithing. These professions are part of the immersive roleplay experience you can create for your character.

You are free to play the server as you’d like within the rules, as it is a sandbox experience. We’re also building out a dedicated area for roleplay that you can participate in, or you can create and follow your own story independently. Roleplay is encouraged but not enforced, allowing players to engage in as much or as little as they prefer.

The server has a custom economy where you can earn money (and premium currency like gold) by selling farmed resources, participating in events, selling horses, or running a business. There are also unique opportunities for players to earn premium currency through giveaways or special events.

The Tackroom follows strict community guidelines, including respecting others, no cheating or exploiting, and maintaining a PG environment. Additionally, there are rules around event participation, player interactions, and roleplay conduct to keep the server fun and friendly.
