How to Play as Any Animal in The Tackroom: A Guide to /pedmenu

Whether you want to roam the frontier as a wolf, assist your ranch as a cattle dog, or create immersive wildlife encounters, this guide will walk you through how to select your animal, change its appearance, and bring your new character to life.

How to Use /pedmenu to Become Any Animal

Using the /pedmenu command is simple and allows you to choose from a variety of animals. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Open the Ped Menu

  • Type /pedmenu in chat and hit enter.
  • A menu will appear on your screen with a list of different categories, including animals.

Step 2: Choose Your Animal

  • Navigate to the category of the animal you’re wanting to transform into.
  • Browse through the available options, which include horses, dogs, birds, and wild animals.
  • Select the animal you want to become by clicking on it.
  • This will now turn your character into the selected ped.

Step 3: Confirm and Spawn

  • After selecting your animal, confirm your choice.
  • Your character will instantly transform into the selected creature.

Now that you’ve selected your animal, you might want to adjust its appearance. That’s where the outfit option comes in!

How to Change Your Animal’s Appearance (Outfit Selection)

Many animals have different variants—this could be different fur colors, coat patterns, or size variations.

Step 1: Open the Spooner Menu

  • Type /spooner or hit your DEL key, this will open the spooner menu.

Step 2: Select “Outfits”

  • Hover your mouse over yourself until the cursor turns green, then hit TAB
  • At the bottom of the menu, click PED OPTIONS.
  • At the top of the menu, you’ll see a box with OUTFITS and a number, scroll through the numbers to change your appearance.
  • If you want to change the size of your ped, at the bottom of this menu you’ll see a text field that says “Size” change this less than 1.0 for a smaller ped, and try not to go above 2.0 for larger ped.
    • This sometimes doesn’t work if you changed your character height in the character creator.

Step 3: Confirm Your Look

  • Once you’ve found the perfect appearance, confirm your selection by doing /spooner again or hitting your Del key to close spooner.
  • Your new look will apply instantly!
