Support Our Staff
One of the most common questions we get is: “Does your staff get paid?”
No. Our staff are volunteers. We check in with the team regularly to ask if that’s something they want to revisit. The answer has stayed the same. They’re here because they want to be.
Because of that, there are no time requirements or mandatory schedules. We ask that staff show up, stay engaged, and participate in team communication. That’s the expectation.
We do work with a paid third-party developer for specific technical needs. Outside of that, no staff members receive payment.
Starting in November 2025, a small percentage of monthly contributions goes toward the founder after all server expenses are covered. This was discussed with the staff team before it went into effect.
Running The Tackroom as much as we’d love for it not to need a lot of time dedication, it ultimately is not a side project. The founder role covers day-to-day server management, development, bug fixes, community oversight, and the behind-the-scenes operations that keep TTR running for 10,000+ community members. The partial compensation reflects that time commitment.
How You Can Support

We offer one simple option:
Teamwide Support — Contributions here are pooled and distributed across the entire staff team. Every person who helps keep The Tackroom running gets a share.
These are not donations for perks. No in-game advantages. No special items. These are gifts from you to the people who show up for this community every day.
Because our team is spread across the globe, gifts are distributed through gift cards and similar methods in fair increments. Every amount counts, big or small.
