Unlocking Creativity with Spooner: RedM Building in The Tackroom

When it comes to expressing your creativity in RedM, few tools are as versatile and powerful as Spooner. Whether you’re building your dream homestead, crafting an elaborate competition course, or decorating your ranch for the holidays, Spooner gives players the freedom to make their mark on the world.

Here at The Tackroom, Spooner is more than just a prop placement tool—it’s a way to tell stories, build identities, and create immersive environments that reflect your character, your horses, and your lifestyle. In this blog, we’re diving into the many ways our community uses Spooner, showcasing real builds from players around the server, and celebrating the creativity that makes The Tackroom feel like home.

What is Spooner in RedM?

Spooner is a RedM building and environment editor that allows players to place props, create custom scenes, and personalize their space with fine detail. It works similarly to a sandbox building mode, giving players access to thousands of props from the game’s files—and, in many cases, custom-added props from our server’s content packs.

From a modest firepit and a few chairs to sprawling arenas or fantasy-style costume builds, Spooner can do it all. It’s the foundation of RedM custom homes, event setups, and just about anything else you can dream up in the world of The Tackroom.

Home Building

RedM custom homes are one of the most popular uses of Spooner in The Tackroom. Players design everything from cozy cabins and dusty ranch houses to luxurious Victorian homesteads with wraparound porches and lush gardens.

With Spooner, you’re not limited to the buildings already placed on the map. You can design your own dream house from the ground up—choose the layout, materials, furniture, and decor. Want a barn next to your home? A windmill out back? A horse paddock nestled under a tree line? It’s all possible.

Many players create homes that reflect their character’s lifestyle or backstory. Some builds are simple, like a weathered shack for a humble ranch hand. Others go all out with multi-building compounds, fences, driveways, and stables built to perfection.

Course Building

For competitive equestrians, trainers, and event hosts, Spooner is a key tool for creating custom riding courses and equestrian arenas across every discipline you can imagine. From show jumping and cross-country to obstacle challenges, trail classes, barrel racing, pole bending, and more—Spooner empowers players to bring their competitive visions to life.

These aren’t just basic layouts with cones and barrels. Our players build immersive, fully staged arenas that feel like real-world venues. Picture detailed fencing, bleachers for the crowd, custom signage, lighting for nighttime events, judges’ booths, and well-groomed footing. Whether you’re setting up a western arena under the open sky or a tucked-away forest trail course, Spooner gives you the freedom to create it all.

We’ve seen rugged cross-country tracks through rivers and over logs, intricate show jumping courses with combinations and tight turns, and creative trail setups with everything from rope bridges to teeter-totters. No matter the event, Spooner transforms ideas into playable experiences that challenge both horse and rider.

These are just a few of our various jump courses that are either added into the server OR can be used by our community to use in their own competitions.

Decorating & Community Spaces

Not every build begins with a blank canvas—sometimes the most creative uses of Spooner come from working with what’s already in the world. In The Tackroom, players often use Spooner to enhance existing structures and spaces, breathing new life into barns, arenas, cabins, or trails that already exist on the map.

Spooner gives players the ability to temporarily decorate areas for events, roleplay, or seasonal vibes. Want to cozy up your barn with lanterns and hay bales? Set the scene for a spring festival with floral arches and benches? Create a spooky, abandoned outpost with flickering candles and eerie props? All possible—and all incredibly fun.

But we don’t just stop at temporary decorating. Spooner is also how we build permanent community facilities across the map. With permission from the creator, we’ve taken player-submitted Spooner codes and implemented them as full-time features in the world—builds that everyone can enjoy and use. These include:

  • Arenas with stands and show-ready decor

  • Chill hangout spots with benches, firepits, and shade

  • Open barns and ranch-style outposts

  • Roleplay hubs like waystations, camps, or town plazas

A recent example is Starletto’s addition to the Western Arena at the Horse Park—an already great area that’s now been transformed into a stunning event space with beautiful decorative touches and player-focused design. That kind of creativity enhances not just one player’s experience, but the entire community’s.

We also support and encourage the use of public Spooner codes that players have shared for things like:

  • Photo booths for in-game selfies, portraits, or posters

  • Staged RP scenes like doctor setups, training stations, or market stalls

  • Mini hangout builds or environmental props that add ambiance without taking over a space

These lightweight builds are perfect for those who want to spice up their surroundings without fully customizing an entire region. Want to decorate for a pop-up event, set up a romantic picnic, or create a rugged blacksmith corner in town? There’s probably a Spooner code for that.

Spooner is a tool of expression, immersion, and community-building—and it’s a big part of what makes The Tackroom feel so alive. From tiny decorative details to large-scale community projects, your builds can shape the world for yourself and everyone around you. And if you’ve got something cool you want to share? Let us know. We’d love to see it become part of the permanent landscape.

Costumes & Roleplay Scenes

Spooner isn’t just for buildings and barns—it’s also a creative tool for costuming and setting up unique roleplay scenes. Some of our most theatrical players use Spooner to create wearable builds, like wings, masks, or oversized props for events.

Others build elaborate sets for storytelling—everything from staged crime scenes and wild-west theater productions to haunted houses or magical fairy groves. Spooner allows you to transform a basic location into an entirely new environment for immersive, one-of-a-kind roleplay.

At The Tackroom, we believe in giving players the freedom to create and immerse themselves—and Spooner is a huge part of that. Whether you’re building a homestead, crafting a course, decorating for the season, or adding something small to make your world feel more alive, Spooner is the brush and the server is your canvas.

We love seeing what our community creates, and this blog is just a glimpse of the incredible work being done across the map. Keep sharing, keep building, and keep dreaming big.
